ASML announces new decision after shipping 21 lithography machines to China. What's the plan?

In order to suppress Huawei, the United States amended the global chip ban, except huawei has no chips to use, other semiconductor-related enterprises are not affected, such as TSMC, Qualcomm, etc. Because of this, ASML company cannot supply EUV lithography machine to China.

ASML, like Qualcomm, has repeatedly sought U.S. approval to supply products after the ban was imposed. It is clear that the international giants do not want to lose the Chinese market. But for ASML, limiting EUV lithography is not a big deal.

ASML sold the lithography machine to China in order to drive sales of DUV lithography machine and other mid and low end lithography machine, which is why ASML submitted multiple applications for Chinese companies, but for its own purposes.

ASML's total shipments of lithography machines reached 62 units in Q1, and the market share in Mainland China increased significantly, accounting for 34%. In other words, ASML sold 21 lithography machines to China in the first quarter.

At present, Chinese mainland market has become ASML's largest overseas shipment market. Of course, the direct reason behind the "lack of core" also has a lot to do with it, because the Chinese chip industry needs to expand capacity, so the demand for lithography machine is also greater, which gives ASML the opportunity.

What's more interesting is that ASML has announced that it will hire 200 more employees in China and then increase its strategic deployment in China.
